2014 Silver Cup

The 22nd annual Silver Cup competition was held this past week in Pahrump, Nevada at Mountain Falls Golf Club. The weather was perfect for the entire event with highs in the 80s and little wind. Recall this event is our version of the Ryder Cup. We have 20 players from Northern Nevada competing against 20 players from Southern Nevada in net match play. Day one is alternate shot, day two is best ball and day three consists of singles. The Northern Nevada team won the cup in 2013 which meant the South would need to win 20.5 points to take the cup away and the North would only need 20 to keep it. The first day of play had the South in the lead 6.5 to 3.5. Day two results were 5 to 5 leaving a day 2 total of 11.5 South and 8.5 North going into the singles matches. Singles is a big day as there are 20 points available. Marvis Green had a hole in one. However, the South won the singles session with 10.5 points and the North captured 9.5 points. The highlight for the South was Laura Smith and Rane Zimmerli going undefeated. The scoreboards are presented above and various South team pictures below.

2014 STATE AMATEUR

The Nevada State Amateur was held at Eagle Valley West in Carson City. We had all kinds of weather with rain on the first day and then there was beautiful weather the last two days. Hunter Pate repeated as our state amateur champion. In a 3 hole playoff Karen Hoppe won the net championship over Christy Atencio. All winning scores can be found at the link above.

2014 SENIOR STATE AMATEUR

The Nevada State Amateur had a repeat winner with Laurie Johnson winning the gross event and Janice Campbell winning the low net award. The flight champions and other winners can be found above.

2014 PARTNERS TOURNAMENT

The 2014 Partners Tournament was held in June at the beautiful Lakeridge Golf Club. We had 52 teams participating. The gross division was won by Brianna Becker and Jamie Donizio shooting 135. A lot of good scores were shot. The net winner was the team of Becky Martinelli and Lynn Greenman shooting 124. All the net and gross results can be found above.

2014 QUAD TOURNAMENT

The first NSWGA tournament was held on June 2-3 at Tuscany Golf Club. The weather was beautiful with highs in the low 90s. We had 25 four-person teams in attendance which is a great showing. The team of Laurie Johnson, Brenda Knott, My Paulson and Diane Booth won the gross division shooting 268. The net champions shot 235 with the team being made up of Tammy Starring Gabbi Buonacorsi Shana Pederson Mary Ross. All the scores and results can be found above.
