The meeting of the Board of Directors of NSWGA was called
to order by President Karen Hoppe at Ruby View Golf Course on
In the absence of Treasurer D'Anne Daniels, Karen reported we had a bank
balance of $ 11,286.34.
We had 116 players in the Quad this year.
There was a brief discussion and a decision made to give a plaque to the
hosting club (in this case Ruby View who has been so generous). Claudia
will take care of this for Ruby View.
Sherry Jackson reported that the scores for Partners have been posted.
Shirley Westfall, the Future sites-North Director, has resigned.Lori
Elliott has been appointed in her place.
Mindy suggested that Lew might have a price for us at
Laurie Johnson mentioned that South is talking to Primm
for Silver Cup 2004 and Red Rock for the Quad.
Sherry observed that our logo "doesn't work" in some applications;
Brenda thought that possibly a graphic designer at her work place might be able
to "freshen it up."(-Berta's
words.)
Irene reported that the trophies are in for the
state championship. Regarding the entries, at this date there are 9 in
the Championship; 21 Directors; and 16 Seniors.
Alexandria Gibson, a junior, has entered. Irene is hopeful
that there will be more that enter because she has passed out more entry forms.
There was a brief discussion of playing in threes or fours for the
championship. It was decided to stick with the four.
For our State Team comprised of Christy Atencio, Sherry Jackson, and Laurie Johnson, Doe Emes
has volunteered to go as a non-playing Captain at her own expense.
The meeting was concluded with the shared feelings that Directors and Board
members of our northern, southern, and state organizations should spend some
real energy in promoting our events; and certainly to play in these tournaments
themselves.
Berta Kirchner, acting secretary for this meeting.
